MATERIAL AVAILABILITY

Scrap usage

Small cuts can come from new sheets. They do not have to depend on leftover mats.

Scrap policyDisabled is the default. It also removes automatic scrap matches from material and cost estimates. Maximum scrap pieces per planApplies only to Limited mode. This is a piece limit, not an inventory reservation.

Allowing scrap does not confirm availability. Existing sample scrap records are not live stock; production must check them before release.

Priorities guide ranking; they cannot guarantee the best manufacturing layout. Coverage, overlap, drainage and stock-fit checks always remain active.

AI GUIDANCE

Editable instructions

Describe production preferences and explain tradeoffs. These instructions are sent to the configured AI service; keep customer details and credentials out.

Production planner instructionsGuides creation and editing of the cut plan. Planning advisor instructionsGuides the advisor when comparing existing options. It cannot invent or apply a layout.

System rules still enforce valid geometry, approved-reference handling and the selected scrap policy. Instructions cannot disable these checks.
